About This Speaker

Trevor Linden is a former NHL player who spent 19 seasons primarily with the Vancouver Canucks, where he served as captain and later as president of hockey operations. Throughout his career, Linden was recognized as a respected leader on and off the ice. He was named captain of the Canucks at age 21, making him one of the youngest captains in league history. In that capacity, Linden was nicknamed “Captain Canuck”. Trevor led the Canucks to division titles and a Stanley Cup Final, and represented Canada in the 1998 Olympics and 1996 World Cup of Hockey.

In addition to his hockey career, Trevor Linden has made significant contributions through his charitable work, particularly with children. He has been a longtime supporter of BC Children’s Hospital and Canuck Place, a hospice for terminally ill children.

In 1995, he founded the Trevor Linden Foundation to raise funds for local charities and hosts an annual golf event to benefit BC Children’s Hospital. Linden’s dedication to community service, inspired by his brother Dean, has earned him prestigious awards, including the King Clancy Memorial Trophy and the NHL Foundation Player Award. He was also recognized as a Member of the Order of Canada in 2010 for his sportsmanship and community involvement.

Linden was involved in the creation of Club 16 – Trevor Linden Fitness, and has partnered to build two residential/commercial development projects. His dedication to the community continues to make him one of Canada’s most respected athletes.
